The All-Party Parliamentary Group for Animal Welfare (APGAW) is seeking to assess whether the reduction in numbers of small and medium sized abattoirs in the UK has negatively impacted animal welfare. The Group intends to carry out a small inquiry involving cross party MPs and Lords over the next couple of months and that work will start with the collection of some initial written evidence from key stakeholders.
